When newcomers join us for Nia, we always invite them to wear comfortable clothes they love moving in. Truly that is the only qualification. If you can move freely in it, if it feels good, it's suitable for Nia. However, many times over the past few years Mel, Juliann and Ann have been asked where they get their Nia clothes -- and we're always happy to share our sources! To that end, here's a quick guide to our favorite dance clothing brands. We'll add new favorites as we find out about them. (BTW: We're not getting paid to recommend these brands. We're just devoted wearers and honestly like them!) ![]() Soul of Jiva This is Mel's favorite dance wear brand. The fabric is sturdy and has great compression, and the tailoring is flattering to a variety of body shapes. The company is based in Sweden and offers free shipping to the U.S. However, be aware that if something doesn't fit, you'll have to pay the shipping cost to return the item. Nia Wear Our first fitness-wear love! All of your Move2Center teachers love its flare pants. Nia has largely moved away from the classic styles but a variety of cool leggings and tops sport inspiring mottos and art from each of the latest routines. Nuu Muu
If you've danced with Juliann, Alyssa or Emily, you've seen how flattering these tunics are on a varied of body shapes and sizes. And you can wear them out and about, too! We can't recommend this brand enough!

To embody your feminine wisdom it must be awakened through your womb as a second 'brain'. Tapping into the mysterious fluid rhythms of your unique feminine essence, this movement allows for an effortless flow of energy leaving you feeling more sensuous, youthful, and more alive." When: 1-4:30 pm on Saturday, November 9 Location: Move2Center Studio 3618 SW Alaska Street Seattle,WA 98126 (entrance is on 37th Ave SW) Early Entry: $55 until November 4 After November 4-Day Of: $65 Please RSVP: Ann Nicolaysen at ann.nicolaysen@gmail.com or 206 963-9479 Join Yoga instructor and MuktaDance™ creator Maritza Vargas Reyes for a comprehensive view of Ayurveda as it relates to nourishment on Sunday, October 13, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Move2Center Studio, 3618 SW Alaska St. West Seattle.
This workshop explores the main five elements that constitute the Universe, as we know it: Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth and their intimate relationship to our nature. Participants will learn out the Doshas or our in-born constitution: Vata, Pitta, Kapha. We also explore the importance of the processes of Digestion, Absorption and Elimination, and determine which foods and combinations are most nutritious to balance each Dosha. Your relationship with your body is the longest one you'll have. Shouldn't you love it?
More to the point.. shouldn't you love your workout? If you're ready to flip the old guilt-driven, "no pain, no gain" workout script, if you're ready to craft a positive relationship with your body and with your concept of fitness, then you're ready to experience Nia. Join us for a two-hour workshop from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 4, that's designed for absolute beginners or newish Nia-lovers who want to find out more about the practice.
