Ready to Step Into the Art of Sensation?
Join Britta Von Tagen & Teresa Myers at Move2Center
Saturday, July 1 - Thursday, July 6, 2023
We are so fortunate to be hosting Nia trainers Britta von Tagen and Teresa Myers for The Art of Sensation.
ART OF SENSATION explores Nia practices and philosophy in 13 body-centered principles that have been developed and tested by thousands of participants over 40 years. This transformative experience guides you home to your body where you will discover and connect with your authentic self.
Learning to listen to the voice of your body develops body literacy and empowers you to make choices that enhance health and total well-being in your body and life.
For many, the training can be a wonderful dive into the realm of self-discovery, inviting you to emerge on the other side with a completely refreshed outlook on life, a new level of confidence and a positive way
of relating with others.
It's also the first step on the path to becoming a certified instructor in Nia Technique.
Why Take the Training In Person at Move2Center?
Move2Center's founders and teachers take great joy and pleasure in creating a magical, comfortable experience for our community. Our studio has two large bathrooms that can be used for changing and freshening up. We also provide tea service, as well as complimentary dark chocolate for all of our visitors. We look forward to taking extra-special care of our belt trainees.
For Seattle and Western Washington residents, having a training in our area allows the opportunity to head back home in the evening, sleep in your own bed, soak in your tub, order your favorite pizza -- you catch our drift. Belt trainings in other cities are fantastic...but you have to pay for lodging and food.
For those who are heading into Seattle from other cities, however, Move2Center is located steps away from The Grove West Seattle Inn, a recently restored, well-reviewed and beloved mid-century motor inn. The Grove is reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. Move2Center's co-owners are also happy to help you find other lodgings in the area.
The studio is within walking distance to Trader Joe's and many great restaurants on California Avenue, featuring everything from some of the city's best sushi to an extraordinary French bakery to, of course, Cupcake Royale.
Check back for updates to this page and additional offers as we get closer to December!

Meet Your Trainers
Teresa Myers is a licensed Black-Belt Nia Practitioner and part of the Nia Training Faculty, specializing in White Belt Trainings with a focus on Embodied Social Justice. She discovered Nia after an exhaustive search for an exercise routine she could do following an extensive surgery to remove cancer that had eaten through muscle in her back and rib cage. You name the form of exercise, and Teresa has probably tried it in her quest to regain health and movement. When Teresa found Nia, she truly got her life back. She is virtually pain free, much of the scar tissue both internally and externally has been alleviated and in many ways Teresa believes she is moving better now than she was before the surgery. While Nia helped her to heal physically, she also realized Nia had an incredible ability to help her mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Ask her what she did after Trayvon Martin was killed. Ask her what she did after the mass shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Ask her what she did after (fill in the blank-too many injustices to name). Ask her what she did after seeing the confederate flag being paraded through the Capitol Building. She took Nia to the dance floor to move this trauma and oppression out of her body. Teresa is passionate about sharing Nia and its healing potential as a somatic movement and mindfulness lifestyle practice. Through this incredible mind, body, spirit practice, Teresa has been led to holistic health and healing. She has studied Traditional Naturopathic Medicine, Massage Therapy, Touch for Health, Herbal Medicine, and Energy Medicine: Reiki, Polarity and Therapeutic Touch.

Britta Von Tagen has been passionate about educating humanity to help heal the world through the dance of Nia since 1995. "I have been training Nia to teachers since 2002, first in Idaho and now worldwide. I have found over the years of training, that the Nia practice has generated an even stronger intention of Peace on Earth inside me. Not that I have to love or save everyone, but create an positive environment for individuals to be transported while getting a great workout no matter what their age or ability." "My mantra: I am, therefore I teach." |
